i always wanted a sister
someone to
shop with,
bake with,
laugh with,
cry with,
share clothes with,
see movies with,
fight with,
eventually leave my kids with...
you get the point.
when i was a teenager
my dad hired a new assistant
she started to stay with us when my parents traveled.
well, she had a daughter
several years younger than me.
at first she pretty much hated me (i have no idea why *wink*)
until i saved the day by remaking a valentines cake after her cake came out
tasting a lot like chicken.
and then she realized that i was pretty awesome. (*wink again*)
and that was our breakthrough,
right there in the kitchen.
from that point on she let me pretend like she was my sister
and drag her around shopping
and to the movies
and supported me through
my teenage life crisis(s)
and she eventually started baking REALLY good cookies
and my brothers started to like her better than me
so i totally had to put her in her place a few times.
but you know, whatever.
so i guess you're wondering if i have a point
and i do,
but first i want to tell you that she is a giver
she is the most loving, giving person i've ever met.
when I had my babies she pulled out all the stops,
and i knew she loved my babies almost as much as i did.
and she gave the best gifts
the softest blankets,
the cutest stuffed animals.
she's very creative and cute.
and when alexandria was 4 she bought her these
hot pink flare pants with a rhinestone belt
and alexandria wore them pretty much everyday for a year.
when we lived in jax. she always helped me with the kids
and wouldn't even complain if matthew
cried for the whole time i was gone,
my kids love her almost as much as i do.
she grew up and fell in love
so we all thought about it
and decided to let her get married to daniel.
who just happens to be an amazing person too.
they bought a beautiful historical home,
then they had the most beautiful wedding
and my dad married them
even thought he wouldn't do my wedding
but you know, whatever.
sooo, my point is...
she's going to have a baby!
and i'm super excited
because she's been waiting a long time for this
and she's taken care of everybody else
and now it's her turn!
her name is kelly and she's going to be a great mommy!
